Getting Rid of Different Types of Warts
Warts refer to bumpy growths on the skin that may appear in any part of the body. They are sometimes similar with the skin color of the person, but they often feel rough to touch. They tend to disappear on their own but some of them require appropriate treatment. If you want to get rid of those rough and unsightly bumps on your skin, you have to be familiar with how the different types of warts are removed.
Common warts
Common warts usually occur at the back of the knees, toes, and fingers. They look similar to cauliflowers and they are also rough to touch. They usually grow on the breaks of the skin, which is why they are often found crowding near broken fingernails. They are also called seed warts because they have a small, black dot that is caused by the presence of blood vessels.
Flat warts
Flat warts, also known as plane warts, are usually small in diameter. However, they also tend to grow in larger numbers. Children who catch the Human Papillomavirus usually grow warts on their faces. In adults, flat warts usually occur in areas that are frequently shaved such as the chin and leg area.
Plantar warts
Plantar warts usually appear on the soles of the feet. They are also known as mosaic warts because they tend to grow in clusters. Unlike other types of warts, they are harder to detect because they can be found inside the skin. The constant pressure applied on the feet pushes plantar warts up and makes them harder to see. When growth is uncontrolled, they may also cause pain because they feel like stones that were stuck under the shoe.
Periungual warts
This type of wart growth is considered most painful. Aside from causing pain and discomfort, periungual warts are typically found near fingernails so they are also more visible. Once the virus enters the skin as well as the nail plate, it may cause your fingernails to exhibit a deformed shape. They may also lead to fungal infections so proper treatment is required to prevent further complications.
Now that you already know the different types of warts, it will be easier for you to identify what type of wart is growing on your body. Warts can be removed in different ways but wart freezing is deemed as the most effective. It is a two-step treatment process that can freeze and remove warts without causing pain or damage to surrounding skin.
